Saltford Santa Dash raises over £3k for OTR!

Back in December, we were thrilled to be chosen by the Saltford Santa Dash as one of two charities to benefit from their annual fundraising. You can imagine how excited we were last week to be presented with a donation of over £3,300 towards our work with young people in the Bath and NE Somerset area! We really want to thank both the Dash committee and everyone who took part in the race; your support means a great deal to us.

You can read all about what happened on race day here:

One of the most fun charity events of the year took place on December 5th in Saltford. The Saltford Santa Dash came back to real life after being virtual last year during lockdown, and chose to support Off The Record for the second year running.

Hundreds came dressed as Santa to run, walk, hop and skip 5 miles around Saltford, with a shorter dash in the sports field for the children’s race. There was food, drink, and music as well as a brilliant warm up session led by a dance instructor on stage.

A lovely local choir kept our spirits up when the sky started spitting, but luckily the weather cleared just in time for the main dash to begin. Spectators lined the streets to cheer on the runners, with many standing in their front gardens, and some even putting on a party with music!

The event raised significant funds and awareness for our charity and the work we do in the local area, and all the volunteers from OTR who went to shake buckets and speak to the crowd about our work had a lovely time.

Special thanks to our staff, volunteers, and supporters who took part in this fun Christmas event!
