Our new Chair of Trustees

Following our latest Board meeting, we are delighted to announce Mark Ames as OTR’s new Chair of Trustees.  Mark joined OTR as a Trustee in 2020 and has a wealth of experience delivering and overseeing student services, most recently as Director of Student Services at the University of Bristol.

He’s worked hard to understand OTR, and the role that he and the trustees play in supporting the organisation to be the best it can be and is taking the helm as we begin to deliver our recently launched five-year strategy.

Mark Ames

A little about Mark:

Mark has worked in further and higher education for 35 years leading the strategies and services that support student wellbeing and mental health. He is a trained teacher and counsellor, and is now working as an executive coach and mentor.

Likes: Daily yoga, good food and long walks in the countryside with family and friends.

Dislikes: People who think and act as if they are the only person who matters.

In another life I’m pretty sure I was… a sailor, as I have always been attracted to classic wooden sailing boats.
