Volunteer Vacancies: Volunteer Counsellors and Listening Support Workers

Off the Record is now recruiting for Volunteer Counsellors and Listening Support Workers for our  Bath and Midsomer Norton  office.

We are also very excited about a new service we will be offering as a result of our ongoing partnership with Young Melksham. We will be opening a counselling service in Wiltshire based at the Canberra Youth Centre and are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals who would like to be part of this new venture.

Our Counsellors provide weekly 50 minute sessions of therapeutic support to young people aged 10-25. We offer 6 sessions of counselling to everyone interested in receiving counselling but this can be extended if necessary. We provide full induction to the role and ongoing individual and group clinical supervision. We also offer a limited number of placement opportunities for trainee counsellors.

Our Listening Support Workers provide advice, support and guidance to young people aged 10-25 on any issue they would like support with. We provide full training and induction to the role and ongoing supervision.

We ask for a minimum of one year’s commitment from all volunteers.

If you are interested in applying for either of these roles please read the job profiles below, complete the Volunteer Application Form detailing which role you are interested in and the Equal opportunities Form and return to us. We do not accept CV’s in lieu of an application form.

Our volunteer training will be starting at the beginning of September and will be held on one evening a week for 5 weeks. Dates and times of this will be confirmed nearer the time.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss either of the roles please contact the office by email at office@offtherecord-banes.co.uk or by phone on 01225 312481.
