Bath tea store brews up a round of vital donations to support local young people

Whittard of Chelsea have been brewing up a storm of festive activities to help raise funds for local charity Off the Record this month.

Last Friday evening saw their Bath store open their doors much later than usual for a private event where guests came along to support the local charity whilst also learning the art of tea ‘mixology’ – and making their very own blends.

As well as running the mixology event, the team at Whittard also held a special raffle and the winner is due to receive a basket full of luxurious Whittard of Chelsea goods this week.

The fundraising team, run by Assistant Manager of the store Olivia Styles, helped to raise over £360, all of which will go towards supporting young people in the community struggling with a whole range of mental and emotional issues, including things like anxiety, bullying in school, and family break ups.

Phil Walters, Director for Off the Record, said: “It’s always great to have the support of local businesses that acknowledge the important work we do.

“The team at Whittard worked so hard on this event and on pulling together the raffle and we could not be more grateful for their support.

“Our work really is a lifeline for vulnerable young people in Bath and Somerset and we work hard to improve their emotional and mental wellbeing. We helped over 800 people last year and the demand for services such as our free counselling support is continuing to grow. There are so many young people out there crying out for help and we want to be able to help them all.

“Vital donations such as this amazing gift from Whittard of Chelsea will allow us to continue to do that.”
