Participation Project Worker
Off The Record – Bath and North East Somerset
16 hours per week £20 865 pro-rata (£9019)– Fixed Term to 31st March 2019
Founded in 1994, Off the Record (BaNES) has grown into a well-established independent charity that exists to improve the emotional health and well-being of children and young people in the West of England and surrounding areas by empowering them to make informed choices about their well-being and to strengthen their emotional resilience.
Off the Record’s Participation Service works with Children and Young People aged 7 – 19 (21 if SEND) delivering a Senior In Care Council, Junior In Care Council and the Youth Forum. This includes supporting the BaNES MYP (Member of Youth Parliament) with their work. The service also helps plan and deliver the BaNES Primary Parliament and Youth Parliament Day. The Participation Project Worker will work flexibly across the projects supporting young people with their campaigns and ensuring the projects meet their outcomes.
Working with the Participation Development Worker you will be involved with the planning, delivery and evaluation of participation activities that meet the needs of a variety of service users. You will enable young people to consult their peers and ensure that the views on young people are heard and acted upon by professionals. You will also be required to be involved in delivering Participation training to professionals. There is a core amount of administration with this role so you must be able to use Microsoft Office.
You will be working with children and young people and will need to understand the importance of working to safeguarding, confidentiality and equal opportunities policies
You’ll be based from our office in Bath but will be required to work across Bath and North East Somerset and at venues outside of the Local Authority.
